Merry Christmas from RULFC

RULFC Manager Simon Darke’s Christmas Message

After a turbulent summer and huge changes across the club, I am pleased to go into Christmas in a very positive position. We have now developed a greater link with the club which has mainly been achieved with the brilliant support from the Community Trust. The players that have come to play for us have worked hard and I’ve really enjoyed having them as part of the group.

I felt this season would be a real struggle and it was to begin with. However, following two wins and the chance to progress in the County Cup we have shown real progress which we can take into the second half of the season. I believe we can still achieve our aim of avoiding relegation and there are plenty more opportunities to win matches.

I want to give my thanks to the Community Trust, especially Jamie Noble, everyone that has helped the club, including Val Hoyle, James Leggitt and Richard and Paula Connor. The players have been brilliant for me so far so I hope they can end the year on a high by winning this Sunday in the County Cup against Doncaster Belles.

I hope everyone has a good Christmas and New Year and here’s to a successful 2018 on the and off the pitch for Rotherham United Ladies!
