End of season review Rotherham United Whitehill Girls U18’s

When we first got the girls together several years ago it could be difficult playing against teams like Huddersfield, Barnsley, Donny Belles, Sheffield United & Sheffield Wednesday suffering heavy defeats.

Each year we have continued to develop the players and added to the squad where spare places have appeared.

This year I have to give credit to every one of the 17 players in the squad. We have gone into every game played football the right way and tried to win every game. The girls have trained hard, listened to different formations and the style of play we have tried to install.

I have to say what a pleasure they have been we went on tour to Holland last year winning both games 4-0 & 1-0. We then entered our tournament and won the competition. We finished fourth in the league above Sheffield United, Donny Belles & Huddersfield and played in the most entertaining final I have seen drawing 2-2 at FT the game went into extra time each team having a few chances in the extra period however Barnsley took their chance late in the game 3-2.

The girls also took part in Rainbow laces weekend and Charity Match for BHF in memory of Tom Fellows.

Thanks to the club for giving us an opportunity to play under a well organised set up with great pitches. Thanks to the parents and Coaches for their support. Most importantly the players who have all been awesome.
